Ray May Fire Update 9:15 p.m.: 2,730 acres burned, one structure destroyed
9:15 p.m. Update: Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center reports that the Ray May Fire has claimed one habitable structure. No other details were released.
Voluntary evacuations are in place for the Pinenut Creek and Lena Lane. Pinenut Road remains open to local residents only.
The fire has grown to 2,730 acres. There are 5 air tankers, 6 helicopters, 15 engines, 2 water tenders, 2 dozers and 414 personnel working the fire.
"Fire continued to make runs to the north and east this afternoon driven mainly by wind. Firefighters will continue to construct direct line around the perimeter of the fire tonight, utilizing crews, engines, and dozers.
"The Fire is currently being managed by Local Type III organization. Additional resource will be arriving within the next 24 hours to assist in the management and containment of the fire."

5:30 update: Two 15-year-old boys were taken into custody this morning for starting the Ray May Fire, according to The Record-Courier. The boys allegedly built a fort and started a campfire, but didn't put it out all the way.
They also report that two firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries this morning on the fire line. The firefighters are receiving treatment for their injuries.
Highway 395 is reported to be open, but officials say that Topaz Lake will be closed to the public today to allow aircraft to retrieve water to fight the fire.
Update from Sierra Front: Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is working in conjunction with East Fork Fire Investigators in the arrest of two 15 year old males in connection with the start of the Ray May Fire.
Investigators determined that the juveniles had built a fort in the area of Ray May Way and also had started a campfire at the fort. The juveniles apparently failed to extinguish the fire and yesterday afternoon winds caused the fire to spread.
The juveniles are in custody and face charges of 3rd degree arson. The investigation is ongoing.
