Carson City mixer announcement stirs Ormsby House hopes

In the latest Carson City Chamber of Commerce calendar update sent to members today, an item in small print stuck out to us like a giant billboard. In announcing the June 16, 5 p.m. Chamber Mixer at Geeks of Nevada, at 520 South Curry Street, there's a surreptitious note, in small type, which reads "behind the soon-to-be-opened Ormsby House."
We checked the Ormsby House Web site and nothing new was there. And so called and left a message with O-House's Jennifer Drake. While waiting for a return, we called Ronni Hannaman, executive director at the chamber to find out what she knows.
"I just wanted to see if our members were paying attention," Hannaman said with a bit of clever laughter. "We haven't heard anything other than they are opening soon, which was a while ago, so I thought that if we actually saw this in black and white and in print, it might actually come true."

Apparently Carson Now was the second call the chamber received regarding the note.
As the Ormsby House Web site says in its rather poetic take of its own construction efforts: Like Peter Pan, you have to believe.
