Carson City Fire Department responds to two separate vehicle rollovers overnight
UPDATE: Two vehicles were involved in separate vehicle rollovers overnight. One person was taken by Care Flight in a crash that happened early Thursday morning, while the other person escaped serious injury. Both rollovers may have been alcohol related.
The Thursday morning rollover was in the southbound lane of the Carson City I-580 freeway near the Highway 50 exit.
A Care Flight air ambulance was called after a pickup occupied by a male driver rolled, injuring the driver. The incident was reported at 12:40 a.m. Thursday. The driver had reportedly been driving recklessly before the crash, according to multiple 911 calls to dispatch.
In the second rollover late Wednesday night, a man was taken to the hospital via ambulance after he flipped his car on Lompa Lane and Dori Way in Carson City.
The adult male driver was out of the vehicle by the time Carson City Fire Department arrived and agreed to have his blood drawn for possible DUI. He was taken to Renown Medical Center in Reno by ambulance. The single-vehicle rollover was reported at 11:12 p.m.
