Child on bicycle hit by car at Desatoya and Woodside in Carson City
UPDATE: The 8-year-old boy struck by a vehicle Thursday night at Desatoya and Woodside was flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno. His condition is unknown at this time. The Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.

Care Flight was called and Carson City ambulance and sheriff's deputies responded tonight to Desatoya and Woodside streets for a child hit by a vehicle. The call came into dispatch at 7:06 p.m.
The eight-year-old boy was on a bicycle when he was struck by a car, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy who arrived at the scene. The boy was conscious but bleeding from the face, according to first responders at the scene.
He sustained injuries to the left side of his head and lower left leg, according to arriving emergency medical technicians.
Traffic is being diverted around the accident scene.
