Outdoors with Don Q: Before you drop your line here's the skinny on California fishing licenses and stamps
With the Opening Day of the 2013 California fishing season right around the corner on Saturday, April 27, if you are planning to fish on the Opening Day or the entire Opening Weekend, this is a special reminder that you will need to possess the proper 2013 license to be legal.
You can purchase that license and any applicable stamp(s) at a number of local outlets or on the Internet. If you need to buy them, here is some info:

To purchase your licenses, stamps and cards online:

That’s the way that Elaine and I purchase our licenses.
It’s easy and you can do it from the comfort of your own home.
Bet Your Favorite Pigeon
Bet your favorite pigeon that he can’t tell you about an interesting thing about my California Non-Resident annual fishing licenses.
If he grins and says, “Many years ago, Don was loudly complaining when his California Non-Resident annual fishing license went up to $35.00,” he could have been the person who was with me when I bought that license.
Wow! Today, that $35 license would be an unbelievable buy!
The "Good Old Days" were truly the Good Old Days.
