Bee City USA to host 'Earth Day Celebration of Pollinators' in Carson City
An Earth Day Celebration of Pollinators is set for April 28, 2019 at the historic Foreman-Roberts House Museum in Carson City. This will be a welcoming event for children and families seeking to learn more about the Earth and value of conserving resources.
The fun will start at 10 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. Although this Earth Day Celebration is a week late (out of respect for Easter), it will include all the fun families have come to expect from this celebration.
This year's event is free and sponsored by the Great Basin Beekeepers of Nevada and Bee City USA No. 76 Carson City established in October 2018. This organization supports education and understanding the value of all pollinators in our environment. Plants, flowers, trees, birds, bees, butterflies all depend on each other for survival.
The exhibitors for this event are excited to share their knowledge and experience, to help us understand the importance in learning all we can for the future survival of the world we share. The Foreman-Roberts House Museum is located at 1207 North Carson Street.
The event is hosted by the Carson City Historical Society with promotional assistance from the Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority. More information about Bee City USA No. 76 can be found here.
Exhibitors for the celebration include: Carson City Parks and Recreation and Open Space, local garden clubs, Great Basin Beekeepers of Nevada, Bee City USA #76-Carson City, Evergreen Gene's, Greenhouse Garden Center, Carson City Water Subconservancy, the Greenhouse Garden Project, and the Carson City Climate Action Committee and other organizations.
