Dayton High 'S' Club Organizes Help With Prom Expenses
Written By Dayton High S Club
The “S” Club of Dayton High School is sponsoring a project to help make this year’s Prom a dream come true.
With growing economic challenges facing students today, we know that attending the Prom on May 7th will only be a dream for some. To make the dream a reality, we are asking for donations of gently used dresses, tux rental fees, and gift certificates for dinners, hair or nail services. Our goal is help at least 25 students.
What is “S” Club? The “S” Club is a high school girls’ club developed by Soroptimists International of the Americas, whose mission is to improve the lives of women and girls across our country and the world.
The Soroptimists of the Comstock sponsor the “S” Club at DHS. We develop service projects by identifying and addressing needs in our school and community. In “S” Club, we build friendships, leadership skills, and design service projects that really make a difference.
Donations can be dropped off at Dayton High School (DHS), or Community Treasures Thrift Shop at 80 Shady Lane in Dayton. Checks can be made out to DHS for “S” Club. Your donation is tax deductible and will create magical memories for years to come. Please call Michele Watkins, one of the “S” Club advisors, if you have any questions: (775) 720-7545.
