Winter weather closes Carson City schools Friday
The Carson City School District has announced that all public schools within the district are closed today due to winter weather that has settled on the area.
All Douglas and Storey County schools are also closed Friday due to the winter weather, KRNV News 4 reported. Lyon County schools are currently on a two-hour delay, according to the LCSD web site.
Douglas County and Carson City campuses of Western Nevada College are also closed Friday, according to the WNC web site.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada are also closed Friday because of the snowy weather, according to In Plain Sight Marketing.
There will be no student activities or programs in Carson City schools Friday because of the weather, the district said. This includes all after school programs, practices, performances, and contests, including interscholastic athletic events.
No school services, including transportation, nutrition or student health will be available Friday in Carson City due to the closure, the district said.
Only emergency response personnel are asked to report for duty, the district said. All other staff, faculty and students are asked to remain home Friday.
