Carson City schools open, buses running on time
With a dusting of snow on the ground and icy conditions on local roads, motorists are urged to use caution and slow down while driving this morning. Carson City School District reports its buses are running on time.
There have been a couple accidents earlier this morning. Crashes on Highway 50 west of Dayton Valley Road on Dayton Hill and Dayton near Fortune have been cleared, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Motorists should drive slow and increase your following distance as the roads are icy this morning, NHP advises.
Snow showers have tapered off with only scattered showers expected the rest of today and tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. Snow overnight has created slick roads above 4,600 feet elevation. Leave extra time for your commute this morning, especially for travel on Highway 395 north of north McCarran Boulevard.
