January Carson City School Board Meeting discusses policy changes, early release dates
The January Carson City School Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22 beginning at 6 p.m.
A board workshop will run from 6-7 p.m. regarding a progress update for the Performance Plans related to the Nevada School Performance Framework for Pioneer High School.
The School Board Meeting will be called to order at 7 p.m.
In addition to regular Board Reports and the Superintendent’s Report, an informational update on a two year action plan for the Western Nevada safe Routes to School Program will be up for discussion.
A second reading of the Carson City School District’s proposed policy of Prohibition of Workplace Violence will be read before the board and will be up for approval at this meeting.
A proposed change will be discussed in Regulation 1020, Protocol in Suspected Cases of Child Abuse or Neglect and the newly proposed appendix 5, Talking to Children and Students about Abuse or Neglect.

— Thursday Jan. 24, Bond Oversight Meeting, 11:30 am at the District Office at 1402 W. King Street
— Monday, Jan 28 will be an Early Release Day for all students; classes dismiss at the following times:
- Pre K 12:15 pm
- Pioneer High School 12:50 pm
- Carson High School 1 pm
- Middle Schools 1:20 pm
-Elementary Schools 2 pm
— Monday, Feb. 4 is a Professional Development Day for staff, no school for students
— February 15 and February 18 will be no school days for President’s Day
