Free Shred Day at Greater Nevada Credit Union
Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) will host its annual Carson City Shred Day on Saturday, October 13 from 9 am to noon. The event will take place in the parking lot at the credit union’s Eagle Station branch, located at 451 Eagle Station Lane. Community residents are invited to drop off as much personal paper documentation they would like to safely destroy and recycle. Documents must be removed from binders, though attached staples and paper clips are acceptable.
GNCU Operations Manager, Rose Smith, said that Shred Day helps the credit union accomplish several things. “The event helps residents reduce their risk of identity theft and fraud by securely destroying documents that contain personal and financial information. Plus they can shred and dispose of any amount of personal paperwork for free. It also helps the environment through properly recycling documents, rather than tossing them into our landfills.”
American Document Destruction and Offsite will provide the shredding and recycling services. For more information about GNCU’s Shred Day, visit www.gncu.org, or call 775-882-2060.
