Food for Thought carnival fundraiser at Mills Park today in Carson City
Mills Park in Carson City is alive today with carnival activities and more for a good cause — to help change lives for hungry children in our community — one meal at a time.
Food for Thought is a Carson City nonprofit whose mission is to provide nutritious meals to chronically hungry school children in our community.
During the school year Food for Thought provides a weekend bag of food to over 850 school children on Fridays so they can have food during the weekend and come back to school Monday nourished and ready to learn. During the Summer months Food for Thought provides a free lunch to children ages 2-18 at a local park Monday-Friday.
Food for Thought is hosting a carnival at Mills Park today, Saturday, June 29. Enjoy a tethered hot air balloon ride, carnival games, bounce houses, petting zoo, food and fun. Enter for a chance to win $2,000 by purchasing a $10 golf ball. Food for Thought will be dropping the golf balls from the hot air balloon at 9:30, if your ball is the winner you can win $2,000. To purchase a ball go here. The carnival and petting zoo is from 10:00am-5:00pm, Hot air balloon rides from 7:30am-9:30am.
Proceeds benefit the hungry children in our community. For more information go to www.nvfoodforthought.org or call (775)885-7770
