Legends of the West Bike & Car Fest

Legends of the West Bike & Car Fest is coming to Carson City on June 30, 2012. The planning for this event is going fast and furious and we are anticipating a great second annual show. This event is being held on June 30, 2012, under the auspices of the Carson City Downtown Business Association and is being managed by Arlington Group Events. The CCSO 9th Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge will take place at Legends. See these highly trained men and women compete for glory in slow motion!

In the spirit of true partnership and support, the Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce has reached out to assist Legends of the West with notifications about the street closures.

In 2011, some businesses in the street closure areas felt that they did not get proper notification of which streets would be closed and for which dates/times. The Chamber received some phone calls and did their best to assist in real time. Curry Street was opened to traffic as a result and the situation improved for those businesses.

After the event, Ronni Hannaman, Chamber Executive Director, said she would assist with the 2012 event to be sure the notifications were sent in a timely manner. And she did! Notices were sent via USPS to over two dozen businesses in the street closure area.

The planned street closures for June 30th are:
1. CARSON STREET from Robinson to Musser
2. SIDE STREETS incl. Spear, Telegraph, & Proctor for 1 block east and west from Carson St.
3. E. Telegraph from Carson to Plaza St.
4. Parking area east of Laxalt Building
Note: E. & W. Musser will be left open for use of emergency vehicles - no event vehicles will be parked there.

Hours for the closure:
SATURDAY, 5 AM - 7 PM

Firkin & Fox “Firkin Friday” on June 29th will be as usual. Legends will be holding early registration in the parking lot behind the Pub starting at 6 PM.

Legends wants to create a great downtown day. Stroll along Highway 395 and don’t forget your sunglasses to help enjoy the gleam of great chrome.

 Enter your bike in these categories: Vintage, Classic, Custom, and Open.
 Enter your car in these categories: Vintage, Pre ’65, Muscle Car, Street Rod, Low Rider, Rat Rod, New Gen, Open, Truck, Mini Truck (Mid-size), Import, and VW.
 Car and bike entries are $25 per vehicle. Get a $5 discount with 5 cans of food for FISH.
 Kids 5 to 15 can enter a pedal car, bicycle, or wagon at no charge – just bring a can of food for FISH.

The Disabled American Veterans, Chapters 1 (Reno) and 7 (Carson City), along with FISH are our designated charities for this event.
