Carson High Culinary Arts wins Another State Championship
Carson High School Culinary Arts Pro Start Team again won the Nevada State Pro Start Culinary Arts Competition. This is Carson High's 11th Consecutive State Title.
Carson High sent 2 teams to the state competition in Las Vegas. Each team consisting of 5 team members. They had one hour and only 2 burners to complete a three course meal for the judges. The menu's were pre planned, cost analysis were done and recipes were created. The teams had to bring all the equipment and food to prepare the dishes.
After months of practice it came down to 1 hour to impress the judges.
The first time ever competing team of: Kierra Bell, Katie Guiterrez, Sam Bachmann, Tylor Lagier and Rebeka Merriner took 4th place.
The state title was won by the team of: Dakota Martinez, Christian Kivi, Leslie Vallenzula, Max DeMar and Natalie Hachenberger.
The first place team will be representing Nevada at the National Invitational in April in California.
