CARSON CITY — Nevada residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Nevada Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28 with a “fee-free” day at Nevada’s State Parks. Park fees, including entrance, camping (Saturday night) and boating, where applicable, will be waived at state parks throughout Nevada.

Dozens of hot rods will roll into Carson City next week for the 9th annual Rockabilly Riot held at Mills Park. The event originally got its start in Reno but will be hosted for the 4th time here in Carson City.

Several hundred made their way Wednesday evening to the 9-11 Memorial at Mills Park for a remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorists attacks on American soil, paying tribute to those who lost their lives with words, song, prayer and hope.

Carson City student to refresh 'C' on C-Hill as part of Eagle Scout, senior projects

CARSON CITY — Gabe Crossman, a 17-year-old senior at Carson High School and member of Troop 45, will be refreshing the “C" on C-Hill for his Eagle Scout and senior class projects Saturday, September 7, at 7 a.m. Seniors from the Class of 2019 moved the rocks to form “TJ3" in memory of their classmate Timmy Jones.

Carson City Fair 2019 Coloring Contest Winners Announced

This year, the Carson City Fair Coloring Contest sponsored by Carson Kids Dental was a huge hit throughout the weekend, and over 50 children in three age categories participated with over 300 votes.

The contest this year featured a barnyard scene and was available for print out before the fair as well as during the fair at a booth set up in the Exhibit Hall.
