THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNUM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
Wild Horse Theater Company presents the Tony Award winning musical comedy, "THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE" one of Broadway's most buzzed about hits!. Performances are April 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24 at 8 p.m. and April 18 at 4 p.m. at 813 N. Carson Street.. The play is sure to warm your heart, challenge your spelling skills and have you L-A-U-G-H-I-N-G all the way home. This award-winning musical is fresh off the national tour and recently closed on Broadway after nearly 1,200 performances. The play captures the quirky competition of a county spelling bee with all the usual suspects that are in the throes of puberty. From the reigning spelling champion, to the hyper do-gooder with the lisp, the nerdy kid with a host of health problems, and the second alternate that never expected to compete; they all unite through their love of spelling. "SPELLING BEE" is rated PG-13 and is recommended for theatre goers 13 and over for its adult content. Hearn (Leaf Coneybear), Leoney Berg (Mitch Mahoney), James McDuffie (Chip Tolentino), Maggie Jesse (Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre), Dezi Davis (Olive Ostrovsky), Marcia Bateman (Rona Lisa Perretti), and Tom Strekal (Vice-Principal Douglas Panch). The music and lyrics are by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin, conception by Rebecca Feldman, and original direction by James Lapine. Wild Horse Theater Company’s production is directed by Jeffrey Scott, choreographed by Robin Kato, and vocal direction by Alan Catron.
