5K Walk-Run to benefit Dayton school children
A 5K walk/run will be held in Dayton on Saturday Oct. 23 to raise money for the Dayton Resource Bank. This “bank” is available to all students at our Dayton schools who are in need of resources that cannot be taken care of by their parents or the school.
The “bank” covers anything from class fees to school clothes and shoes. Referrals are accepted from third parties such as coaches, clergy, or school nurses, counselors, and teachers.
As a registration fee, the Dayton Task Force is asking each of the participants to collect five gift cards at $20 a piece from Wal-Mart or five $20 Dayton High fee vouchers, or a combination of both.
Please support Dayton Resource Bank where 100 percent of funds raised goes directly to the students of our schools to allow them to enjoy an educational experience that fosters well rounded adults.
For registration forms and more information, please contact Sara Ross at 246-7550 or 246-2725. Click here for more information about Healthy Communities Coalition.
The Dayton Task Force is part of the nonprofit coalition, Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties, focused on creating a healthy, cohesive, and positive community.
As the Dayton Task Force, our mission is to create an opportunity for all
students to enjoy the same educational experience as their fellow
students. We are devoted to helping students be able to participate in
elective classes, extracurricular activities, and a healthy school experience.
