'Forever Plaid' coming to Carson by Wild Horse Productions
Wild Horse Productions is proud to present FOREVER PLAID, one of the most popular and successful musicals to hit the stage! This hilarious flash-back to the 1950s and the memorable music of that era will be presented on Friday and Saturday, March 30, 31, April 6, 7, 13 & 14 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 8 at 2:00 pm at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street in Carson City.
Forever Plaid is a comedy that follows The Plaids singing group through a fatal car crash on their way to their first big gig. They are miraculously revived to perform the concert that never was, entertaining audiences with side-splitting humor and toe-tapping nostalgic pop hits of the '50s and '60s. Singing in the closest of harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, the "Plaids" are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles! The Plaids also perform comedy sketches which include a Perry Como tribute, Calypso music and a hilarious re-enactment of The Ed Sullivan Show--jam-packed with plate twirlers, jugglers, impersonations and even Topo Gigio all in 3 minutes and 11 seconds.
Since Forever Plaid first opened in New York on May 20, 1990, it received unanimous rave reviews and ran for over four years. It has gone on to spectacular worldwide successes.Forever Plaid has been a sensational hit, provoking laughter and tears (sometimes at the same time). Audiences of all ages have adored the ‘50s and’60s music, wholesome story, and never-ending comedic banter of ‘Plaid.’
The Plaid cast includes James McDuffie as Sparky, Leoney Berg as Smudge, Marsh Brodeur as Frankie, Corey Stockton as Jinx. Forever Plaid is directed by Jeffrey Scott, choreographed by Robin Kato and musically directed by Ann Libby.
Scott says, "Leave your cell phones and modern sarcasm at home and prepare for a great evening of music and comedy that will leave you longing for a simpler time. You will find that there’s a little “Plaid” in all of us!”
