It's back and better than ever: the 2014 edition of the Escape From Prison Hill trail half marathon and 10K races!The Escape from Prison Hill Half Marathon and 10K in Carson City, Nevada, is happening on Saturday, April 19. The Escape from Prison Hill Half Marathon is a challenging trail run with great views of the Sierra Nevada, Nevada valleys, and the Nevada State Prison! The 10K packs the same views and less-challenging terrain in a shorter distance. 

Third Annual Easter Egg-stravaganza

The third annual Egg-stravaganza takes place Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at Mark Twain Elementary School in Carson City.
This 16,000+ candy-filled egg hunt is a FREE event for Carson City children. Aged zones are set up for toddlers through 11 years old, with a separate zone for special needs children. Even the Easter Bunny will be there for pictures and to celebrate with the kiddos.

In the music industry, there is often a preference to try and quickly define an artist and his music by placing him in one or two genre categories. The problem is a preconceived model doesn't fit someone like Dwight.

Carson ATA Martial Arts Car Wash - Donations Benefit Scholarships

Come support our local Martial Arts students as they will be washing cars for donations for One Child ATA Time, a group raising money for scholarships into the martial arts program.

These kids learn Respect, Courtesy, Perseverance, Loyalty, and they want to help others benefit from these skills. They will be accepting donations of $5 and up per car, and all of the proceeds go to the scholarship program.

National Train Day at the Nevada Railroad Museum set for May 10

To commemorate National Train Day the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City will operate and offer rides on May 10 aboard Virginia & Truckee Railway's McKeen motor car No. 22.

The car entered service for the V&T on May 9, 1910, and was retired in 1945. No. 22 is the only restored and operable McKeen motor car in the world. In 2012, the Secretary of the Interior granted the No. 22 National Historic Landmark status, which recognizes the McKeen motor car's significance to United States history.

Dayton Students to Stage 'Romeo & Juliet'

Dayton Intermediate School's drama students present "Romeo & Juliet," in two performances, May 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
Open to the public, the play is under the direction of drama teacher Michelle Crain, assisted by her husband Cameron Crain. The school's seventh- and eighth-grade students perform this timeless classic about young and tragic love. Cost to attend is $5 per person.
