Latin music workshop and free concert

On Saturday, May 12, Carson City Symphony's Strings in the Schools will hold a Latin Music Workshop and concert at Empire Elementary School, 1260 Monte Rosa Drive, Carson City. Led by Symphony Education Director Sue Jesch and guest percussionists Liz White, Kevin Conlin, and Gerald Larson from the University of Nevada, Reno, the workshop is open to string players of all ages at no cost. Pizza Factory Helps Eagle Valley Middle School on Thursday

Students and staff at Eagle Valley Middle School need the community's help. Thursday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the generous owners of Pizza Factory 3120 Hwy. 50 E., #3, will donate 20 percent of the entire day's earnings to the EVMS parent teacher organization.

The donation will help with purchase CRT testing snacks for the entire student body. The community is asked to come in, call in or carry out pizza, sandwiches or pasta and help raise funds for Eagle Valley Middle School.

Carson City Prescription Drug Roundup Set for April 26

Partnership Carson City conducts a Prescription Drug Roundup, Saturday, April 26, at four locations. Folks are encouraged bring their unused and expired prescription drugs to one of the drop-off locations for proper disposal, as this helps protect the community and the water supply.

Carson ATA Martial Arts Car Wash - Donations Benefit Scholarships

Come support our local Martial Arts students as they will be washing cars for donations for One Child ATA Time, a group raising money for scholarships into the martial arts program.

These kids learn Respect, Courtesy, Perseverance, Loyalty, and they want to help others benefit from these skills. They will be accepting donations of $5 and up per car, and all of the proceeds go to the scholarship program.
