The Brewery Arts Center is the place to be St. Patrick’s Day weekend when a bit of Ireland and Scotland come to town. The folk duo Men of Worth will bring Celtic music to life in the Performance Hall on Friday, March 16th at 8pm.
Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher blend music and storytelling to take audiences on journey to their homelands. The self described Extreme Traditional Celtic Musicians have preserved the emotion and tradition of their homeland songs while at the same time telling new stories.

High Sierra Swing Dance Club presents its monthly dance party Feb. 25 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St., Carson City. There will be a lesson at 7 p.m., with the social dance at 8-10:30 p.m. Partners are not required. Lesson $7 for HSSDC and any swing dance club members or $10 for nonmembers; dance $7 for members of swing clubs and $10 for nonmembers. Join the club that night, and the dance is free. The Carson City Symphony, directed by David Bugli, will present a concert, "Russian Treasures," on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. The concert features guest violinist Carla Trynchuk in a performance of Alexander Glazunov's Violin Concerto. The program, suitable for people of all ages, also includes Russian March by Strauss, In the Steppes of Central Asia by Borodin, and Capriccio Italien by Tchaikovsky.

The event is open to all and will include entertainment, a costume contest, and prizes, as well as Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and volunteers who will share their experiences with the organization’s inspiring programs.

It is time to welcome spring with a train trip, wine, food, and good friends aboard The V & T Wine Train, sponsored by the Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary! The train excursion will be held on Saturday, March 31st, departing Carson City Eastgate Depot at 10:00am for a trip through the Comstock to Virginia City.
