'Human Bean' coffee shop opens first location in Carson City

Jack in the Box on South Carson Street to close

Carson City's Bleu Cafe reopens restaurant, bar for lunch following public outcry
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Tue, 01/07/2020 - 12:33pmCarson City's Bleu Cafe closed their restaurant doors in November to focus on catering and parties, but after months of public outcry from Bleu Cafe enthusiasts, Chef Roberta Davies has opened the restaurant and bar for lunch, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The restaurant is popular for their menu that touts cooking "the old fashioned way," with every item made from scratch using real ingredients. When it closed, the public let Davies know just how upset they were.
New events center, potential casino sale could boost prospects for South Tahoe market

Eldorado Resorts CEO Thomas Reeg said the Reno-based company will need to sell at least one of the three casinos it will own in Tahoe once a $17.3 billion merger/buyout of Caesars Entertainment is completed early next year.

Original owners of 'The Basil' are back at the renowned Carson City restaurant after funding school in Thailand

After spending thirty years creating delicious traditional Thai food on Carson Street, Bob and Nan wanted to pay forward their hard work and good fortune to those in need.
Bob and Nan set off for Bangkok, where they funded a school for abused children who were being looked after by Nuns. They helped create a commercial kitchen at the school, where the children are now learning how to run their own restaurants.

Bella Fiore Wines loses lease at Carson City's McFadden Plaza, doors to close Feb. 1

According to Bella Fiore, they have not been able to find a new venue they can afford, so the future of the wine bar is currently up in the air.

Carson City job growth up 3.6 percent over year, Reno up 4.8 percent

Reno employment figures increased 4.8 percent, and Las Vegas, 1.3 percent over the course of the year.
