Carson City Historical Society announces a talk by Ben Merrell and Stan Cleaves, members of the Eagle Valley Muzzleloaders, an organization in Carson City that conducts historic reenactments of the Mountain Men's struggle for survival during the late 1800s.

David Bobzien Jr., and James Ferrigan III, both of Reno, have been selected to receive the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. The NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award is a distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. It is awarded to an Eagle Scout by the National Eagle Scout Association for distinguished service to their profession and community upon the recommendation of his local Boy Scout Council.
