Dime-a-dance USO-style party
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 04/30/2012 - 5:37pmIn honor of Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day, High Sierra Swing Dance Club presents a USO-style “dime-a-dance” party to honor veterans and servicepeople May 19 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St., Carson City. There will be a lesson at 7 p.m., with the social dance at 8-10:30 p.m. Men may purchase tickets for 10 cents a dance (or 12 tickets for $1). Between 8 and 9 p.m., each time you dance with a different woman, give her a ticket, which will be entered into a 9 p.m. drawing for raffle prizes.
Man found guilty of battery in local bar
Submitted by admin on Mon, 04/30/2012 - 4:22pmChristopher Lash, 28, has been found guilty of Battery Causing Substantial Bodily Harm stemming from a March 25, 2011 altercation at a local bar in Carson City.
Carson City Sheriff’s deputies were called to a local establishment at 2:00 A.M. with reports of a man striking another man in the face with a pint glass. The suspect fled the scene when deputies arrived, but the deputies received statements from witnesses indicating Christopher Lash struck the victim, Nicholas Moen, in the face with a pint glass causing severe injuries.

Crime Log: man arrested for sexual assault in Carson City
Submitted by T. Costa on Mon, 04/30/2012 - 11:32amCarson City Sheriff's deputies arrested the following individuals over the weekend for felony allegations:
- Jeffrey David Volosin, 29, a Gardnerville man, for several warrants in his name: lewdness with a child under the age of 14 (two counts) and sexual assault on a child under 14 (five counts). These warrants were issued on the 24th of February out of Carson City. Bail has been set at $250,000.
BunnyRanch, Mustang Ranch battle for reality TV love

Those questions have escalated greatly since "Pimpmaster General" Dennis Hof took over the place and broke with the unspoken Nevada brothel code to keep a low profile. On the contrary, Hof searches out publicity like a heat-seeking missile, quick to seek any venue where he can put himself and his ladies into the spotlight.
Carson Girls U10 Softball – Pink Diamonds defeat Dayton Little Devils

During the 4 inning contest, the pitchers for the Little Devils were: Emmy Mills – 5 runs, no hits, 8 walks, no strike outs; and, Temia Powell – 14 runs, 3 hits, 17 walks, 3 strike outs. For the Pink Diamonds: Kelley Barr – 5 runs, 5 hits, 1 walk, 2 strike outs; and, Tezia Boice – 9 runs, 6 hits, 6 walks, 8 strike outs.
