Carson City Needs to Bring Back Race Track

Since it has been torn down, the land has been nothing but be a haven for crime activity, sounds like a great trade-off to me. I think it was absurd for the race track to be taken in the first place. Saturday night racing became a summer tradition in Carson City.
Geiger Grade fire grows to more than 500 acres, evacuations continue

The Bain Street Fire is burning on Nevada Division of Forestry land and has not, at the time, burned any structures, the agency says.
California woman dies in hit and run accident at Lake Tahoe casino district
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 07/30/2011 - 3:26pmA 60-year-old California woman was killed in a crosswalk in the Stateline, Lake Tahoe casino district early Saturday morning, and a 36-year-old man faces felony DUI and possible vehicular manslaughter charges, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
Joan Marie Hamrick of Valley Springs, Calif., died from injuries after being hit on Highway 50 in the casino district by a truck at 1:17 a.m. that was driven by David Ray Stephenson, 36, of Discovery Bay, Calif., said Trooper Daniel Lopez. Hamrick was airlifted from Kahle Park to Renown Regional Medical Center where she died Saturday.
