Humanities in Nature Explores the Outdoors: Guided humanities walks happening across northern Nevada in 2022

Nevada Humanities, in partnership with Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, is launching Humanities in Nature, which is a series of outdoor nature walks that are part of the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation Discover Your Parks walk series at northern Nevada parks.
The Humanities in Nature walk series introduces northern Nevada residents to their outdoor environment and encourages exploration and reimagination of the outdoors through the lens of human connection and creation. The public is invited to participate in these walks that will be guided by both a naturalist and a humanities expert to create a deeper connection between ecological education and stewardship and our connection to place.
Humanities in Nature events will take place across northern Nevada at 6-7 pm PDT, including upcoming events at the following locations:
● Rosewood Nature Study Area with Gayle Brandeis on April 28, 2022
● Tom Cooke Trail with Jared Stanley on May 19, 2022
● Damonte Ranch Park on June 9, 2022
● Idlewild Park with Spoken Views Collective on June 30, 2022
● Oxbow Nature Study Area on July 21, 2022
A full listing of upcoming Humanities in Nature walks locations and start times is on the Nevada Humanities website at nevadahumanities.org/sagebrush-to-sandstone. These events require advance registration, and registration for the Rosewood Nature Study Area walk with Gayle Brandeis will open on Friday, April 22, 2022. Through the humanities, we can learn about our human relationship with nature and the environment in new and exciting ways,” states Christina Barr, executive director of Nevada Humanities. “Humanities in Nature walks offer our northern Nevada residents the opportunity to discover new connections with nature. We are excited to embark on this journey in partnership with Truckee Meadows Park Foundation.”
